Changing the Sound of Your Exhaust
The sound of a vehicle is largely determined by the engine system and exhaust systems that are installed in the vehicle. Exhaust from larger engines typically produces a deeper sound and a higher volume. Sound dampening, amplification, raspy or throaty emulation, and other effects are all possible with exhaust systems. Exhaust style and specific components can be changed to alter the sound of a given engine.
The first step is to begin!
Replace the muffler. The exhaust’s sound is heavily influenced by the muffler. Allowing nearly all exhaust gases to pass through the muffler without any obstruction will result in the loudest exhaust sound.
The exhaust gases can be dampened within the chamber of multiple chambered mufflers, allowing some resonance to smooth or soften the noise produced (because every cylinder discharges separately, the sounds discharged by the porting of the exhaust from every cylinder can very well be utilized to balance up the sound that comes from another cylinder).
As exhaust pipes get longer and larger, the sound they produce tends to become smoother and deeper Exhaust gas mufflers that use smoothing chambers or limit the gases, will reduce the noise produced (restriction causes the noise waves to move against one another and minimize audible output) The sound output can also be reduced by using mufflers with sound-absorbing linings.

Intake of Air
